sewell peak challenge

1. How I felt before I went up Sewell Peak.
2. What it was like walking up the hill - include stories and details here.
3. How I felt when I got to the top.
4. How the Sewell Peak challenge links to NCEA for me.

Before I went up the hill i felt nervous but also confident, but walking up the hill was a big challenge for me because i wasn't as fit as everyone else and i just wanted to give up straight away.
i got really tired and got really sore legs, it took me a long time to get to the top and i didn't think i could do it because it was very difficult at times but my friends were there to help me through it and helped me to the top. When i got to the top i felt proud of myself and i could see so much from where i was, i was very glad i walked to the top and happy that my friends were there to help me get through it all. i think it links to me because no matter what you can make it to the top and do good if you just try and don't give up you have to start from the bottom and climb to the top it will take awhile but anyone can do it we all just have to stay positive so for me doing ncea next year is going to be like the hill we have to start from the bottom but if we work hard enough we can make it to the top.

Gymnastics Research

When were the first gymnastics competitions at the Olympics?

Men's gymnastics was on the schedule of the first modern Olympic Games in 1896, and it has been on the Olympic agenda continually since 1924. Olympic gymnastic competition for women began in 1936 with an all-around competition, and in 1952 competition for the separate events was added.

When was women's gymnastics created ?

In the late eighteenth- and early nineteenth-century Germany, two pioneer physical educators – Johann Friedrich GutsMuths 1759–1839 and Friedrich Ludwig Jahn 1778–1852 – created exercises for boys and young men on apparatus they had designed that ultimately led to what is considered modern gymnastics.

Write about why you think gymnastics and the olympics are important:

I think it is important because I love doing gymnastics but so do alot of people and if people are amazing at it they should get a chance to show it off. Also because gymnasts come from many countries so a lot of people learn a lot of different skills so people should be able to compete to show people what they can do and how amazing they are, also so a lot of people can learn new things.
